UCUM, the Unified Code for Units of Measure is an international code system intended to include all units of measures being contemporarily used in science, among other domains.
The main focus of the UCUM system is unambiguous electronic communication between machines.
UCUM is currently used in Belgian laboratories, among others.
We refer to the UCUM site for examples of these codes and detailed explanations of the syntax of a unit in UCUM.
The version of the table used is specified in the attribute 'SV' of the cd element. In this case, this version number is not the publication number of this site!
